Bridge The Baluarte Bicentenario Bridge is a stengthen bridge. The Baluarte Bicentenario Bridge is located in Mexico in the frontiers of the states of Durango and Sinaloa. The construction was from 2002 to 2012 and it’s above the Baluarte’s lake. It’s on the highway between Durango and Mazatlán. The inauguration was made at 5th of January of 2012. It’s 1,124 mts lenght, 20 mts width and 402.57 mts high, it also has 12 pillars. The project was in charge of the engineer Salvador Sanchez Nuñez. The project cost about 2,450 million pesos. It’s made of cement and steel. It is used to the transit of vehicles and to make easier the road to Mazatlán. Usually 3,000 of vehicles daily transit over the bridge. The Baluarte Bicentenario bridge was worldwide recognized because of being the highest bridge in the world, and thanks to that it won a Guiness Record. This is the second time in 100 years that Durango has 2 famous bridges. Since the 1940’s there wasn’t such a big construction since the federal highway Mexico 40. It has more than 1,000 curves and some mystic places like the “Espinazo del Diablo” that is surrounded of legends and stories.
